Rock & Water Capital Partners is currently led by two of its founding partners, Shannon Mayfield and Ed Thomas. Since 2002, the partners combined have done 14 deals, encompassing more than 17,000 acres and more than $21M worth of acquisitions.

A founding partner of the firm, Shannon Mayfield brings more than 20 years of real estate investment experience to Rock & Water Capital Partners. Shannon has a background in banking and politics, having served as Chief of Staff to the Lt. Governor of Georgia. A member of both the Georgia and Montana State Bars, Shannon holds a BA and a JD from the University of Georgia.

With more than 8 years of real estate investment experience, Ed Thomas co-founded Rock & Water Capital Partners in 2005. A former consultant with Bain & Company, Ed holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA from Duke University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Economics. Among other volunteer activities, Ed currently serves as the National Chair of the Duke University Young Alumni Development Council.
